It was a memorable night for all of us. Through the drizzle, muddy pitch, and trying playing conditions, two of Hope Premier League’s finest teams battled it out for the honours of lifting up the winner’s trophy signaling the end of a long season.
After seeing their 2-0 lead equalized during the second half by a resurgent FC2024, in a good show of “never-say-die” spirit, Evolution FC fought hard to hold the score line despite being 2 men down.
In the end, the decision of who would be crowned season champions was brought down to a penalty shootout decider. Tensions were high as the players each took their turns at taking their kicks. In what could only be described as a remarkable show of skill, Evolution FC’s goalkeeper stopped FC2024’s 4th and 5th attempts thus securing the crown for them.
Big congratulations to Evolution FC for being the new champion!
With this, the first season of Hope Premier League is officially over.
